Carol Jean Cox, professor, author and lecturer has
been instructing full time at colleges for 28 years. She teaches world,
regional, cultural and environmental geographies, U.S. history and field
classes at Sierra College. As an avid geographer and historian, Carol has
lived in five and travelled to over 100 countries.
Nominated multiple times for
Faculty of the Year, Carol has received both the Distinguished Teaching and
Service Award from the California Geographical Society. She has published
articles in history, geography and social science journals, written a book
and given numerous papers, presentations and lectures across the country. As
the 51st President of the California Geographical Society, Carol was the
third woman to hold this prestigious position.
