Carol Jean Cox is the first full time geographer hired by Sierra College and Department Chair of the Geography Department from 1997-2004. Carol served as the 51st president of the California Geographical Society. She is only the third woman to hold this prestigious position.In 2003 Carol was honored with one of two top awards in the state for her outstanding service to the geographic community.
